Our school is in a city called İskenderun in the south of Turkey. İskenderun has been a busy commercial centre since ever. Our city is one of Turkey's largest ports on the Mediterranean. Because of its location it has always welcomed many different cultures and it has always been a very cosmopolitan city.
Özel IKEM College was opened in 1990. Our school began training with its modest structure and students. Over the past years we have undersigned new developments both physically and educationally. As the number of students and education activities increased, building was gradually improved and the first significant changes happened in 2004. Since then the first three floors of the building have been used for education and the fourth floor has been used as cafeteria and multipurpose hall. We aim to move the standards beyond our region and to do this our school has had the main radical development in 2012 – 2013.

European Schoolnet is a network of 31 European Ministries of Education.
They aim to bring innovation in teaching and learning to their key stakeholders: Ministries of Education, schools, teachers, researchers, and industry partners.
They strives to demonstrate how ICT can support change in teaching and learning.
According to the document "Computing our future. Computer programming and coding -Priorities, school curricula and initiatives across Europe" in October 2014 of European Schoolnet "Coding is becoming increasingly a key competence which will have to be acquired by all young students and increasingly by workers in a wide range of industries and professions. Coding is part of logical reasoning and represents one of the key skills which are part of what is now called “21st century skills”. "
The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the CINI - Interuniversity Consortium for Informatics, launched in Italy an initiative called “Programma il Futuro” (which is part of the program “labuonascuola”) with the aim to provide schools a series of simple tools, fun and easily accessible form students to the basic concepts of computer science.
Starting from a successful experience launched in the US in 2013 which saw the participation of about 40 million students and teachers around the world, Italy began to experience so introducing structural schools of the basic concepts of 'through computer programming (coding), using user-friendly tools and does not require an advanced skill in the use of computers.
The project aims to develop two different levels of activities:
• On the teachers and schools organization: to improve competences of teachers and educators and to identify and share a flexible teaching method based on useful tools of coding
• On students to improve their digital and coding skills.
• Improve the skills of the staff of the school and enhance the quality of teaching and learning
• Expand the knowledge and understanding of the educational practices of the involved countries
• Modernization of schools
For teachers:
- to achieve good practice exchanges and also exchange of information, ideas and  concrete methods of working with coding;
- to improve skills, pedagogical and teaching tools;
- to analyse the differences of the diverse educational systems from the partner countries regarding education, computational thinking and coding;
- to promote cooperation to ensure quality in education;
- to promote innovative practices in education by supporting personalised learning approaches;
- to optimize the impact of European cooperation on the innovation of education through the activities of results dissemination;
For pupils:
• decomposition when attacking a large complex task or designing a large complex system
• separation of concerns
• choosing an appropriate representation for a problem or modeling the relevant aspects of a problem to make it tractable
• having the confidence we can safely use, modify, and influence a large complex system without understanding its every detail.
• universally applicable attitude and skill set everyone, not just computer scientists, would be eager to learn and use
• thinking in terms of prevention, protection, and recovery from worst-case scenarios through redundancy, damage containment, and error correction.
• using heuristic reasoning to discover a solution.
• planning, learning, and scheduling in the presence of uncertainty

The project would last for two years and would comprise the following activities:
• Design, pilot test and validation of the planned Intellectual Output: Teaching Method and flexible tools
• creation of web platform to share and disseminate intellectual output and results of pilot test
• 2 short-term training about computational thinking and coding, for teachers and Students
• 6 Multiplier events
To do it in an innovative and effective mode is essential for teachers live a mobility experience in a different European country.
Exchange of good practices, implementing methodologies already tested in other countries, line up the methods, tools, objectives and school education in Eu countries, under a common strategy.
